3 Things For Thursday
It’s Thursday in the USA. I have to think differently about this concept now that I’ll be in Spain in a month. It’s about a nine hour time difference from San Francisco, which’ll give me a vampire-hours work schedule. My brain functions better after about 2pm anyway, so it works for me. Anyway, here are a few things to keep you from getting your work done:

Garfield Minus Garfield
Craig sent me this link, which I really like. It’s a sort of metaphysical exercise, where someone erased all instances of Garfield from Garfield comic strips, thus making an entirely different statement. I grew up reading a ton of comics and comic books (Garfield, Calvin & Hobbes, Groo, Wolverine, to note a few), so this is extra nice.

3Deluxe
File this one under ‘we love Group94 a little too much.’ I do actually love Group94, but this site, which I initially thought was cool (if a little throw-backy) is too much like Group94’s aesthetic to merit it’s own praise. With that being said, I’m not sure why I’m posting it. Probably because it’s a use of grids, Flash, and an example of pixel fonts being used across the board. I had mentioned the VaryWell site earlier which had too much mix-n-match, so this example kind of counters that one. Two typefaces, not five. Keep it simple.

Vitamin Article: Streamline Your Forms With Widgets
And, in the learn something new every day category, here’s an article from Vitamin about fancying up your html forms. I really hate the word widget, but it’s a handy article. Vitamin is a sort of portal-style resource for articles on all sorts of web interests (but not Flash). They’re aligned with the whole 2.0/VC/Rails contingent, but have a good staff of experienced folks writing things.
